There is a plaque on the dishes after the dishwasher – what to do

The equipment did its job properly, the plates shone and creaked. But this time you noticed a plaque on the dishes after the dishwasher. Divorces are especially visible on pans or plastic boxes. Has there been a breakdown?

Let’s figure out how to find the cause and fix the problem.

Causes and options for eliminating white plaque on dishes

If the dishwasher began to cope poorly with washing appliances, you need to find out the reason. It’s not necessarily a breakdown, there are a number of factors that could affect the quality of the wash. Let’s consider each of them.

hard water

The dishes after washing are white, even on the walls of the PMM bunker there are white stains. This means that the soil in your region contains a lot of calcareous rocks. The water that comes from the well to the water supply contains many heavy impurities: calcium and magnesium salts. The sediment is visible on the details of equipment, the surface of devices. Over time, the components of the dishwasher become scaled, which leads to breakage.

Some PMM models come with test strips. With their help, you can find out how hard the water is in your pipes. If you look closely at the tap, kettle, you can see how quickly a white precipitate forms.

What to do to fix the problem? Find out the hardness of the water, pour special salt into the tank, adjust the value on the dishwasher panel (if any). Such an indication will inform you about the end of the salt and the need to add it:

To improve the quality of washing and soften the water, manufacturers have provided a special ion exchanger in the machine. Salt, which is poured into the tank, attracts heavy impurities. Therefore, passing through the ion exchanger, the water becomes “soft”.

Wrong detergent

After the dishwasher, white spots remain on the appliances, stains on the glass are especially visible. Check the correct dosage of detergent powder. If a low-quality product is chosen that does not dissolve well, or you poured too much of it, then it is not rinsed out well.

According to the manufacturers, the 3-in-1 tablet replaces detergent, rinse aid and salt. This is not entirely true. The content of the listed components in the tablet is not enough to perform a high-quality wash.

If you use combined products, we recommend that you additionally use salt.

Check the dispenser cap after adding rinse aid. If it is not tightly closed, the product is washed out during the washing phase, and not rinsing.

How to remove stains and avoid their further appearance:

  1. Vary the detergent dosage until you find the best option for your PMM model. Be guided by the mode: if the cycle is short, the whole tablet may not dissolve.
  2. Choose a quality product. Do not use hand wash gels.
  3. Follow the instructions, pour the powder correctly.

If stains appear on the plates after you have added salt, the reason may be that:

  • salt crumbled in the pan when the compartment was inaccurately filled;
  • the tightness of the cover is broken, or it is damaged;
  • Compartments mixed up: salt got into the powder compartment.

Once the correct amount of product has been poured, remove the residue in the pan. Screw the lid on tightly. If there are cracks, operation is impossible until you replace it.

Violation of operating rules

The technique leaves stains on the surface of the dishes, and the chamber, sprayers, filter in limescale, traces of fat and food residues in the pan are visible. Why is this happening? Because the rules for using the dishwasher are violated:

  • plates are not cleaned of food debris before loading;
  • the drain filter is not cleaned after the end of the cycle;
  • the machine is not cleaned with special means.

Over time, the atomizer nozzles and the filter become clogged with debris and food debris. Therefore, it is recommended to clean twice a month. Once every six months, you need to drive the PMM idle, adding cleaning products. Learn how to clean your dishwasher here.

Technical bugs

You use a quality detergent, follow the instructions, but limescale appears again and again. How to get rid of it?

  1. Dispenser lid does not fit well, compartment does not close tightly This happens in models made in China. You can adjust the cover yourself by sharpening the edges to the desired size.
  2. Faulty hardness sensor. If it breaks, the control module does not receive information, so the water does not soften well. If your PMM model has a sensor, it is better to entrust the diagnosis and repair to the master.
