There are three deaths of swine flu

In Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, three people have died and another four are hospitalized as a result of infection with the AH1N1 virus. Patients contracted swine flu in a hospital in Legnica in the hematology ward.

The hospital was placed under quarantine and all patients who could be discharged home were released. Visits were also forbidden.

All because of the swine flu virus found in patients in the hematology department. It is not known how the pathogen spread. One possible pathway is infection from a sick patient. It is also likely that one of the visitors brought the flu to the ward.

Cases of this strain were also recorded in Szczecin, where 11 people caught it. Three of them are in serious condition. Seven people are ill in Poznań, five of whom are hospital staff members.

Swine flu is most dangerous for children, the elderly and immunocompromised patients, as in the case of those from the Legnica hematology department. Doctors emphasize that the AH1N1 strain has been circulating since 2009 and that vaccines are available in pharmacies that effectively protect against it.
