10 Mezhhirya | 1979
In tenth place is the small town of Mezhgorye (1979) in Bashkortostan, divided into two parts, one of which is located at the foot of Yamantau Mountain, and the other is located next to Dunansungan Mountain. 9. Agidel | 1980
The city with the beautiful name Agidel (1980) is included in the list of the youngest settlements in Russia. It appeared due to the construction of a nuclear power plant in Bashkortostan. After the station was closed, most residents had to look for new jobs. To support the city, the president approved a project to create an industrial park in Agidel, located near Neftekamsk. The population of Agidel is 15645 people.
8. Langepas | 1980
Langepas (1980) ranked eighth among the youngest cities in Russia. It is located in Western Siberia between the cities of Nizhnevartovsk and Surgut. The name of the city means “squirrel ground”, so its symbol is a fluffy and cheerful animal that adorns the flag, as well as the coat of arms of Langepas. On the 20th anniversary of the city in Langepas, they even erected a sculpture of a squirrel, which is so loved not only by local residents, but also by guests of the city. It is believed that if you rub the nose of the monument and make a wish, it will surely come true. Despite the long winter here, the surroundings of the city amaze with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Langepas resembles a European city, characterized by wide squares and streets. There are a huge number of architectural monuments, monuments, fountains and picturesque flower beds. The population of Langepas is 43337 people.
7. Cedar | 1982
In seventh place in the list of the youngest cities in Russia is a settlement called Kedrovy, located seventy kilometers from Tomsk (1982). It also belongs to the smallest cities in Russia with a population of 2047 people. Oil and gas fields are being developed here by companies such as Rosneft and Vostok-Gazprom. Despite the fact that Kedrovy is built up with relatively low buildings (the tallest buildings are five-story buildings), its advantage is a favorable environmental situation, as it is surrounded by pine trees.

Sixth place is occupied by the young city of Russia – Muravlenko (1984), which is developing at the expense of the oil industry. It is named after the engineer and hero of socialist labor Viktor Ivanovich Muravlenko. Currently, this settlement, which occupies a small area, is clean and comfortable. But the main value of Muravlenko lies in its residents, who do everything possible for the development of their hometown. According to official data, 32786 people live in Muravlenko today.

In the list of the youngest settlements in Russia, the city of Pokachi (1984) ranks fifth. It is located in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. It is a beautiful city that is gaining strength and acquiring its own unique look and traditions. There are no houses higher than five stories in it, all the buildings are painted in bright, iridescent colors. The compact location of building structures makes the city cozy. Two religious communities peacefully exist here – Orthodox and Muslim. The city’s dominant enterprise is the oil and gas company, which is part of the Lukoil corporation. The population of Pokachi is 17899 people.
4. Gubkinsky | 1986
Gubkinsky (1986) is one of the youngest cities in Russia, which bears the name of the famous geologist Ivan Mikhailovich Gubkin. Thanks to the hydrocarbon reserves located here and the oil industry, Gubkinsky is a cultural and sports city with worthy educational institutions. The best sports shooting clubs in Russia are located here, as well as many recreation centers, as well as competitions of various sports are periodically held. Initially, it was built as the capital of Ingushetia, since after the separation of Chechnya, the Republic was left without a main city. Magas is located four kilometers from Nazran. Despite the modest number of inhabitants (5841 people), 90 percent of the state institutions of the Republic are concentrated in the capital. Modern Magas is distinguished by the absence of industrial enterprises.

Innopolis (2012) is the youngest and most promising city in Russia with a population of 96 people. It is located 40 km from Kazan on the banks of the Volga. The settlement has a developed infrastructure and good environmental conditions. Innopolis is a project created to attract scientists and specialists in the field of information technology, therefore, all conditions for a good life and productive work have been created here: a modern housing stock, educational and recreational institutions, high-quality roads, etc. The main feature of Innopolis is the university, which trains highly qualified specialists in industry, innovation and information technology.
