Seven in the shops? Ha! Children’s pranks! Alexis Brett met her future husband David back in 1988. 15 years ago she gave birth to her first son. 13 years ago – the second. And then seven more children were born – it turns out that Alexis gave birth every two years. The couple’s youngest child is now a year and a half. All 9 children are boys.
According to Alexis, she is the first woman in Britain to have given birth to so many sons in a row. But that doesn’t make Mrs. Brett any easier: dealing with nine boys is not so easy. A mother with many children wakes up at half past five in the morning, does the cleaning (you have to vacuum in the house almost continuously), loads the washing machine (four times in a row), wakes up the children and prepares breakfast for them. And then you need to wash the dishes and go to the supermarket again – no one can imagine how much ten people can eat in a day.
“We have to stock up on food twice a week. I would like to go shopping less often, but the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets simply do not fit the amount of food we need, ”said Alexis .
Cleaning and cooking aren’t the only challenges. The family has a rather spacious car, an eight-seater minibus. But all together they are still unable to get in there. Therefore, it is not often possible to spend the weekend with the whole family: Mr. Brett takes out the elders to have fun, and Mrs. Brett stays at home with the younger ones. But Alexis doesn’t think that raising boys is difficult: “I just don’t know what to do with the girl. Therefore, when they ask me if I want a girl, I say no.
Neither Alexis nor David ever dreamed of a big family. Anyway, oh so big. And the point here is not in religious views, not in ignorance of the methods of modern contraception.
“I’ve always protected myself. Pills, spirals – always. But in spite of this, I safely got pregnant again and again, ”Alexis throws up his hands.
The experience is great, so Alexis realized that she was pregnant again. For the tenth time!
“I don’t even know why we asked about the sex of our unborn child at the screening. We already knew that. Naturally, boy. ” It seems that the girl in this family is not destined to appear.
After the tenth son is born, Alexis plans to be sterilized. There is no other way out, since the other methods of protection do not work, she does not see. In addition, a 37-year-old mother with many children began to have a serious hip pain.
“It seems my body is signaling that it’s time to stop. I will, ”she says.
