A reader who is concerned about the operation of gynecological care in the era of the coronavirus epidemic wrote to the editorial office. “Was the introduced state of epidemic threat aimed at paralyzing the state and making the health of citizens in other respects less important?” – asks the future father, who is worried about the health of his wife and child. We publish the letter in its entirety.

Tests? Yes, but only remotely

«I would like to report that I am concerned about the situation in the health service at the moment, and more specifically that ALL visits are being canceled.

My wife is 37 weeks pregnant and has just received a text message stating that her visit will be remote. In this phase, remote consultation is rather pointless, the doctor will not perform ultrasound or other examinations using the telephone receiver.

In another clinic, where she was to be referred to the hospital, she also got the news that her visit was canceled. »

Is this how clinics should work?

«Are you sure this is the correct operation of all clinics? Was the introduced state of epidemic threat aimed at paralyzing the state and making the health of citizens in other respects less important?

For us, the health of our unborn child and my wife is the most important thing at this moment. And we would like to live in a country for which it is also important.

The wife should rest, not be afraid and stress that something may be wrong with the child, because she cannot benefit from medical care at this most important moment.

I think it is all going in the wrong direction or there is a large over-interpretation of the regulations introduced. »
