Selection of material and color

Choosing the model and composition of cabinets is only part of the task. It is also necessary to decide on the material from which the furniture will be made, as well as the color and type of surface.

The walls of the slide in the living room, like any other furniture, are made of wood, MDF and chipboard. Wooden belongs to the premium class, has a high price. The cheapest furniture is made of chipboard. Economy class models are made from this material. Chipboard – the middle price segment.

What are the disadvantages of chipboard? The fact that in its production a binder is used – glue, which emits substances harmful to health. In hazardous quantities, these substances are emitted from low quality material with an emission class of E2 and higher. Color design principles

A separate topic is the choice of color and type of surface. The color design depends on the style of the interior, the dominant colors in the design, the dimensions of the room and, finally, on the tastes and desires of the owners. So it’s almost impossible to give advice in absentia. But there are a few universal rules, applying which you can make a good choice.

There are three main types of color combinations that are used in interior design:

• Monochromatic. This is when all objects are of the same color, but different shades – for example, brown and all its shades or gray in all its diversity. You can add neutral tones – white, gray, a little black. A few bright spots will do, but they should not be many.
• Harmonious. The combination of colors is different, but close – red with orange, blue and green. It is difficult to advise here, you need to look at the types of selected colors.
• contrast. The colors are different, but quite compatible – purple with green, yellow with blue, etc. The interior in a contrasting style is suitable for active and creative people, but it can quickly get bored.
  

  

In any case, one color is dominant and there are many of them, all the rest are in details and accessories. As applied to the design of the living room, the main color is usually painted on the walls and added to some furnishings.
