In the last week, there has been a slight increase in the willingness to vaccinate among people who have not yet done so, according to the latest data from the research agency Inquiry. We also checked the mood of Poles in the context of the expected development of the COVID-19 pandemic in the fall.

  1. A week ago, 44 ​​percent Poles were afraid of contracting the coronavirus, currently the result is slightly higher and amounts to 45 percent.
  2. On the other hand, the percentage of people who directly indicate that they are not afraid of infection is currently 38 percent. – in the previous week, the result was very similar and amounted to 39%.

Vaccinations against COVID-19. How many Poles want to get vaccinated?

Currently 40 percent. people who are not yet vaccinated declare that they want to take advantage of the COVID-19 vaccine (‘definitely yes’ and ‘probably yes’ responses combined), an increase of 2 percentage points compared to the previous measurement.

At the same time, the percentage of people who directly declare that they do not intend to get vaccinated decreased to the same extent – currently, 43% of respondents (“definitely not” or “rather not” in the question about their intention to use vaccines) give such answers. of the respondents, i.e. 2 percentage points less than the week before.

Taking into account only people who are not yet vaccinated, the lowest level of willingness to use the vaccine is observed among people aged 18-24 – 34% of this group. of the respondents declare their intention to vaccinate themselves. People in the next age group 25-34 years are characterized by a slightly higher willingness to get vaccinated (38%), and the same result is observed among people aged 35-44. People over 45 who are not yet vaccinated have the greatest willingness to use the vaccine – 44 percent. people declare such an intention.

Coronavirus: What do Poles expect in the fall?

Opinions in society about the development of the coronavirus pandemic vary. 70 percent Poles predict that we will experience another wave of cases in the fall – 9 percent. expects it to be the toughest wave ever, 35 percent. believes that it will be similar to the latest wave of cases, and 26 percent. believes it will be much milder.

Almost every tenth person believes that the next wave will not come, and the rest of the people do not have an opinion on this subject. Compared to the results obtained a month ago, 3 percentage points fewer people predict that we will face the worst wave of the pandemic in the fall. In turn, the percentage of predictions that the next wave will be the same as the previous one has increased by as many percentage points, and a smoother course of the next COVID-4 wave is predicted by 19 percentage points. This means that Poles are now slightly more optimistic about the development of the coronavirus pandemic in the fall than a month ago.

The survey has been carried out from December 21, 2020 on a representative sample of adult Poles using the CAWI method in weekly waves of approx. 700 people (online survey on the YouGov panel).
