Botanical characteristics of the series
A succession is an annual plant that belongs to the Compositae family. The series does not grow above 1 meter in height. The root of the plant is thin and taproot, but well branched. On a single straight red stem are opposite leaves on short petioles. The flowers of the plant are painted dirty yellow, tubular. All flowers in several pieces are collected in inflorescences – baskets, which are located at the top of the stem. The fruit of the succession is an achene of an oblate shape with serrated awns. Awns are hairs that cling to the fur of any animal. Thanks to the awns, the plant spreads over long distances.
The plant blooms from mid-summer to early September. September-October is the period of ripening of the fruits of the series. The series is found throughout Ukraine and Russia, in the Caucasus, Siberia and the Far East. This plant prefers to grow on the banks of lakes, rivers and streams. It also grows well in swamps and fields.
Cultivation and reproduction of a series
The sequence loves moisture and a temperate climate. If the seeds are sown in the field, they will germinate slowly. If the seeds are sown in the spring, then before sowing they must be subjected to stratification for three weeks. 1 day before sowing seeds, organic and potash fertilizers must be applied to the soil.
The succession grows better on light sandy or loamy soil. During the growing season, it is necessary to do weeding and loosening the soil.
2-3 weeks after sowing the seeds, when shoots appear, it is necessary to start monitoring the soil, as weeds drown out the succession and prevent it from developing. Timely removal of weeds is the first rule for the rapid growth of a succession.
Useful properties of a string
The series has diaphoretic and diuretic properties. The herb of the plant contributes to the normalization of metabolism. In addition, the series improves the processes of digestion in the body. Useful substances contained in the plant have a positive effect on hematopoiesis and blood clotting.
The series has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. It is recommended for use in skin diseases and bleeding. The plant is used as a remedy that lowers blood pressure. In addition, the sequence gives a good effect in the treatment of diseases of the spleen, bronchitis, liver diseases and diabetes.
Application of a series
In folk medicine, grass and leaves are used in order to prepare various decoctions and infusions for use not only internally, but also externally. The series is used in the treatment of osteochondrosis, rheumatism, diabetes, skin diseases and malignant tumors. A decoction of the string is used externally for bathing in furunculosis, ulcers, wounds and diathesis. The decoction is also used for washing in the treatment of arthritis, gout, and rickets. Fresh leaves of the plant are applied to wounds and ulcers.
Fright in children is treated in succession by bathing them in a bath of succession. In addition to taking baths, children are also given a warm decoction of the plant to drink every day. The sequence is used against insect and snake bites as an antidote. In addition, it is included in the composition of many fees for the treatment of diseases and ailments of varying complexity.
A tincture of a string is used as a means that improves appetite, normalizes metabolism. An infusion of succession is used for scrofula, psoriasis and scabies.
Infusion of a series. Prepare it as follows: take the grass of the series in the amount of three teaspoons and pour 1 liter of boiling water. The composition is left to infuse for 12 hours, after which it is filtered and taken 70-100 ml three times a day before meals. If the infusion is given to children, then you can add a little honey.
Tincture of succession for appetite. Take the herb and chop it, pour 20 grams of finished raw materials into 100 ml of vodka. We leave the product to brew for 2 weeks, shaking occasionally. After straining the finished tincture, it can be used before meals.
An infusion of a string with lingonberry leaves for furunculosis. We take 1 teaspoon of herb succession and lingonberry leaves. Now pour the mixture with 200 ml of boiling water. Leave for 1 hour, then filter. We take a ready-made infusion of 50 ml no more than four times a day for 14 days.
Contraindications to the use of a series
Children should not use drugs from a series for a long time, as this will only harm the child. It is necessary to use a series only under the supervision of a doctor or very carefully and in small doses.
