Loyal fans of soda are not intimidated by such stories. However, we managed to find an example that showed that you shouldn’t abuse your love for such drinks.
At 21, Shane Trench from the UK struggled with a sweet water addiction. He became addicted to her because of his work: Shane was the manager of a place that sold the popular national dish fish and chips. He ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Trench preferred soda as his drink.
As time went on, the consumption of soda grew. The moment came when Shane was drinking more than 40 cans a day. As much as 5250 kcal, the guy’s body received only from drinks, and this is several times more than the recommended norm.
“My weight got out of control and reached 203 kilograms. Every day I struggled to climb and descend the stairs. The doctors warned me that I could die if I continue to lead this way of life, ”
Favorite soda had to be replaced with a no-calorie option. It was difficult to give up the drink completely, but gradually Trench came to his goal. In less than a year, he has lost almost half his weight and now he understands that he made the right choice.
“It was terrible. My body was not coping well with the sudden sugar deficiency, and I felt tired and irritated. But it was worth it, and I never looked back, ”he admitted in an interview.
Shane wants to inspire other people with his example. He knows firsthand how important it is to get support in a timely manner and find like-minded people. According to Trench, the most effective way to lose weight is to find people with the same problem with whom you will cheer each other up.
