The Snaige refrigerator (Snaige) does not work, malfunctions

Snaige is gradually conquering the market, refrigerators of this brand are present in the homes of some Russians, while the equipment is not immune from breakdowns. The user must know what to do if the Snaige refrigerator does not work.

Typical faults

Snaige is a relatively young brand. Lithuanian manufacturers have taken care of the assembly quality of the equipment, which has passed various checks. But she also has typical problems. What could be the reason:

  1. There is no light in the chamber. The connection of the refrigerator to the mains is checked, the power cord, socket and plug are inspected. If everything is in order, the light bulb is checked, it is replaced.
  2. Water under fruit crates – this happens when the drain hole is clogged. When the compressor is turned off, the refrigerator thaws, drops of moisture from the walls flow into the hole and are removed from the system. When a blockage occurs, moisture flows down and accumulates under the drawers. The refrigerator is defrosted and the drain hole is cleaned.
  3. Extraneous noise. Most often, the equipment buzzes and rattles when installed incorrectly. The body should lean back a couple of degrees. To do this, just twist the front legs of the refrigerator. Do not overfill the shelves with food and utensils, which, upon contact, will make unpleasant sounds.
  4. The red light is on. When the red indicator on the panel lights up, it warns of an increase in the temperature in the chamber. It is necessary to check the tightness of the door closing. If you have recently loaded the shelves with food, then within two hours they will cool down and the light will stop burning.

These are all easily fixable problems. But there are more serious breakdowns, let’s take a closer look at each of them.

Why the refrigerator “Snaige” does not work

If there is a display on the refrigerator body, the self-diagnosis system may display an error code that indicates the cause of the equipment malfunction. The following signs will help you identify a breakdown:

  1. The compressor in the fridge is running and won’t turn off. This may be due to the carelessness of the user or due to a malfunction of the engine.
  2. The 2-chamber refrigerator works, but there is no cooling in one of the chambers. Possible failure of the thermostat, air sensor, compressor or electronic module.
  3. The motor tries to start, but immediately turns off. The problem with the windings, the motor is broken.
  4. The motor runs without stopping, but the food is not cooled. There is a leak of freon gas, which serves as a refrigerant.

Refrigerator “Snaige” works non-stop

A serviceable compressor turns off several times within an hour, approximately every 12-20 minutes. If you just loaded the compartment with food, the motor can run longer – until it cools down completely. But when the engine does not stop, you need to check:

  1. Door closing tightness. Warm air must not enter the chamber.
  2. Installing a thermostat. When the maximum temperature is set in the refrigerator on mechanical control, the motor will not turn off until you turn off the unit. Turn the knob down.
  3. ventilation quality. The room is too hot, and the refrigerator is located close to the wall? No wonder the case overheats. When properly installed, the cabinet should not come into contact with a wall or furniture. The distance between them should be 7-10 cm.

If outwardly everything is in order, the equipment is diagnosed to find a breakdown. If there is a problem with the thermostat or thermistor, the control module does not receive a signal about the temperature in the chamber. Therefore, the board does not give a command to turn off the motor.

With the same success, the electronic module could fail, and there is nothing more to give commands to parts and assemblies. The control board is repaired or replaced.

As a result of corrosion, a refrigerant leak from the steel circuit could occur, this can be seen from the snow layer in one place of the chamber. A specialist will be able to accurately determine the location of the leak and eliminate it.

Has your refrigerator been in operation for many years? Compressor wear could be the cause of constant operation. The device does its best to cool the compartments, but its power is not enough to create the necessary pressure in the tube. In this case, the motor-compressor is replaced.

Refrigerator works but does not cool

In a two-chamber refrigerator, there may be one or two thermostats. If each department has its own regulator, pay attention to its work. There is no cold in the refrigerator section, but the light is on? Probably the thermostat is bad.

In systems with No Frost, it is worth inspecting the fan – it is he who distributes cold air throughout the chamber. The blades do not rotate and are overgrown with ice? The refrigerator is defrosted for 10 hours. If the fan does not work, the reason may be a malfunction of the evaporator heating element.

Possible refrigerant leak. There may be several reasons, and only a specialist can eliminate them.

A sign of an engine failure can be turning it on for just a few seconds or oil leaks under the refrigerator. In such cases, the motor is inspected, repaired or replaced. This “behavior” of technology also indicates problems with the windings. An interturn short circuit or open circuit could occur. Calling with a multimeter will help find out the cause.

The engine does not turn off, the camera does not cool

Snaige refrigerators are likely to leak freon. Let’s consider in more detail the causes of the malfunction:

  1. The refrigerant flows out in the area of the evaporator, while the wall swells, and frost is visible on the inside. It is necessary to disassemble part of the refrigerator for diagnostics and replacement of the evaporator.
  2. The exit occurs through a steel circuit, rusty smudges are visible in the lower freezer. When the drainage system is clogged, water drains and enters the steel circuit, which eventually begins to rust and let gas through. This is a complex repair: it requires the removal of the damaged part of the circuit, its sealing and refilling with refrigerant.
  3. Depressurization of the compartment wall. When damaged by a foreign object, a hole appears in the chamber wall through which the refrigerant escapes. To eliminate the problem, the tightness of the compartment wall is restored.

We have listed the main causes of breakdowns that are typical for Snaige refrigerators, in fact there can be many more. It all depends on how you use it and where you install it. But the general signs are similar, which will help you think about the next steps to solve the problem.
