Many people like fish-based dishes. It is nutritious and healthy, it contains a lot of vitamins and fatty acids. However, fish has one unpleasant characteristic – a characteristic pungent smell that can remain in the refrigerator, on a cutting board, table and utensils. However, there are several different ways to prevent and completely eliminate fishy odor.

Place fish (for example, carp) smelling strongly of mud for 2 hours before processing and cooking in water, after adding a solution of vinegar to it, in order to properly dilute it, mix: – 1 liter of water; – 2 tbsp. l. vinegar.

Before cooking, sprinkle the cleaned and chopped fish with plenty of salt (for every 1 kg of fish 1-2 tablespoons), rub in, and then leave the fish for about 15 minutes. After that, rinse the pieces of salt. So you can eliminate the swampy smell, while the fish itself will not fall apart when frying or boiling.

You can also try the following guidelines to prevent fish odor. Before frying the fish, place raw potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges, in a preheated skillet. Pour into a separate skillet (not the one in which the fish is fried) 1-2 tsp. vinegar and simmer over low heat. Before boiling fish, splash fresh milk into the water? this will not only eliminate the unpleasant odor, but also give the fish juiciness and tenderness.

How to get rid of fish smell

Wipe your hands smelling of fish with squeezed juice of 1/2 lemon or sunflower oil, then rinse them with water. You can get rid of the smell of fish on dishes using dry mustard. Rub it on cutlery and plates, and then wash them with cleaning products. Alternatively, you can wash the dishes in water and vinegar. Wipe down odorless walls and countertops with the same solution if splashes remain on them after cleaning the fish.

Vinegar and lemon lemon juice dry out your hands. To avoid this, wash your hands with soap and water after using them and lubricate them with moisturizer.
