The COVID-19 epidemic in Poland. “We do not know at what stage it is”

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health, 13 tests for the presence of SARS-CoV-578 were performed on the last day (last week there were a total of 2 thousand).

Doctors and scientists point out the insufficient level of testing and thus “only conventional” monitoring of coronavirus infections. – In fact, testing is gone, we have rather “on demand” testing when someone suspects an infection, or self-testing – Dr. Aneta Afelt reminded me in an interview with Medonet. – So it is not known what number of infections we are dealing with.

  4. COVID-19 – Rapid Saliva Antigen Test

As explained by the drug. Bartosz Fiałek, too small number of performed tests means that “the share of positive results in the pool of all tests fluctuates around 30%, and on some days it significantly exceeds this value”. – On this basis, it can be concluded that in general we do not know at what stage the COVID-19 epidemic in our country is – admits the specialist.

– Many cases of the disease are missing from us, so we are not able to reliably determine our place on the map of the development of the epidemiological threat related to SARS-CoV-2.
