Without proper hydration, our bodies cannot function properly, and dehydration is one of the extremely dangerous conditions. Whether the organs are working properly depends on the level of hydration, and the right amount of fluids consumed even affects our cognitive functions and intellectual performance. To avoid dehydration in hot weather, visit the toilet from time to time. Testing the color of your urine is one of the easiest ways to find out if you are drinking enough fluids.
What does the color of urine say about hydration?
The good news is that you don’t need to urinate in a special cup, just look into the toilet bowl. Even if the color of your urine changes slightly when mixed with toilet water, it’s still a great indicator of how well your body is hydrated.
You’ve probably noticed by now that the color of your urine fluctuates throughout the day and can even be affected by eating beetroot. It is worth learning to recognize what color of urine may indicate a problem in the body and react in advance to the warning signals sent by the body.
There are several basic colors of urine:
- Transparent
- Straw
- Light yellow (the color of light beer)
- Dark yellow or amber
- Dark orange or light brown
Find out what the color of your urine means.
Clear urine
If your urine is practically colorless, transparent, it is usually a sign of too much dilution. You are probably drinking too much water. Slow down a bit, hyperhydration can also have a negative effect on your body.
Straw urine
A very light yellow color, reminiscent of straw or lemonade, is the best color you can see in the toilet. It proves very good hydration and is the so-called the standard color of urine in healthy people. If your urine is just that color, good luck, keep it up!
Preventive examinations should be repeated every year. uPatienta offers an E-packet for everyone – preventive examinations in the minimum, medium or maximum version. You don’t even have to leave the house – blood sampling takes place on the spot.
Pale yellow (the color of light beer) urine color
The light yellowish color of the urine, somewhat reminiscent of light beer, also indicates good hydration of the body and should not bother you in any way. You can drink a little more water to make your urine a straw color. However, this level of hydration in the body also demonstrates physiology. It’s okay, keep it up.
Dark yellow or amber color of urine
If you notice darker, amber-like urine in the toilet, it’s time to refill your fluid levels properly. Be sure to drink water and watch yourself during the day. The amber color is a signal that your body is running out of fluid and that your urine has thickened. May be a symptom of mild dehydration. To regularly replenish fluids, it is worth carrying a bottle, and OstroVit water bottle.
Dark orange or light brown color of urine
If you’ve got dark urine, it’s not good. This is a classic symptom of dehydration. Drink water and electrolytes regularly, your body isn’t in top condition, and the fluids themselves may not be as effective. It is not enough to drink quickly, you must watch the amount of fluids consumed throughout the day. Merely thirst can be an insufficient wake-up call. If there are any other symptoms, fatigue, weakness, problems with cognitive functions, be sure to consult a doctor.
