The scabs
The darts, also called pityriasis alba or eczematides, are skin lesions frequent, especially in winter and in children. They are considered a minor sign atopy1 2 (= skin condition which predisposes to allergies and eczema).
Symptoms of scabs
The scars predominate on the convexités of the body and face (cheeks, sides of the thighs and arms, areas of friction of the trunk, shoulders, convexities of the abdomen, etc.).
They are more frequent in winter and towards the end of summer.
Scabs manifest themselves in the form of plates of a few centimeters, usually round or oval, which evolve into two phases :
- La erythematous phase : appearance of plaques pinkish or discreetly red and scaly (= presence of small dry skin), may itch ;
- La clear phase : desquamation causes loss of tan or natural skin pigmentation. The scabs then appear in the form of dry patches lighter than the surrounding skin.
