The Royal Academy of Gastronomy and the Cofradía de la Buena Mesa present their annual awards

The 2013 National Gastronomy Awards have been awarded by the boards of directors of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy and the Cofradía de la Buena Mesa in their different categories on July 14.

The awards recognize the gastronomic work of organizations and people, presenting as a novelty for this edition the Healthy Gastronomy award.

The Gala was presented by the Actor Juan Echanove, and chaired by the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism;  José Manuel Soria.

The president of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy; D. Rafael Ansón  and the President of the Cofradía de la Buena Mesa; Mrs. Imelda MorenoAs representatives of the jury, they solved the enigma that we had hoped to discover for so many months, through a secret ballot hours before the event.

Upon delivery, The chef Paco Roncero served a cocktail full of creativity that put the climax to it

  • Best Chef Award: MARIO SANDOVAL (Coque, Columbus)
  • Best Theater Director Award: JAVIER DE ANDRÉS (The Branch)
  • Best Sommelier Award: GEMMA VELA (Hotel Ritz)
  • Award for the Best Journalistic Work: PABLO AMATE (Ideal)
  • Best Publication Award: OLEUM by Carlos Falcó. (Marqués de Griñon)
  • Special Prize: LUIS LEZAMA and His Team.
  • Lifetime Award: LUIS IRIZAR (Irizar School)
  • Healthy Gastronomy Personal Award: ISMAEL DÍAZ YUBERO
  • Institutional Award for Healthy Gastronomy: SPANISH AGENCY FOR FOOD SAFETY AND NUTRITION (AESAN)
