Greetings to my regular and new readers! “The road to the next world – an incident from life” is a short story about what great power words have.
The power of a word
This story happened in the post-war years, a neighbor told me about it. He then lived in a small Ural village. His father, like the entire male population of the village, volunteered for the front. Mother died, blown up by a mine. Petr Vasilievich, as a teenager, was left alone with two younger brothers.
The time was hard and hungry. But the guys managed to survive thanks to the fact that they caught different fish in the local river. Pyotr Vasilyevich said that the villagers (mostly women) came to them, brought warm clothes and various household utensils to exchange for fish.
He was not a greedy person and often treated his neighbors and their children just like that. And from what he brought he took only the most necessary – he understood that in difficult times people give the last.
Once, two women from the outskirts of the village came to the children to ask for fish. For her, they gave a warm jacket, and some of the shoes. Taking the fish, they left.
Their path to the house was not close, and in order to go directly to it, and not bypass the entire village. They asked to go through the courtyard of one of the local residents. He, for some reason, rudely refused. And then one of the women, getting angry, shouted to him:
– Yes, so that you do not have a road to the next world!
Coincidence or not, the owner of this court soon died. At that time, there were severe cold weather, a blizzard, a blizzard, a lot of snow fell. You can’t get to the cemetery – no one had cars in those days.
In general, the deceased lay at home for more than a week, after which he was buried in his own courtyard. It turns out that the curse of the offended fellow villager has come true. The power of the word is great!
