Champagne complements the salty taste of caviar with acidity and freshness. Unlike meat dishes, which take 4-6 hours to digest, caviar lingers in the stomach for no more than 60 minutes. This is one of the lightest snacks, ideal for a late evening meal, for example, on New Year’s Eve.

Suitable red or black natural caviar of any fish. In Europe, black caviar (brought to France at the beginning of the last century by the Petrosyan brothers) is considered an expensive delicacy, and its combination with champagne is a sign of luxury. Red caviar is more affordable, but just as tasty.

Attention! Caviar is compatible only with dry champagne and brut. As a last resort, with semi-dry sparkling wine. But not sweet, semi-sweet or dessert.

In the classic version, caviar is served in deep saucers along with thinly sliced ​​white bread or a long loaf. Champagne is cooled to 7-10°C. First, a spoonful of caviar is eaten, then a sip of champagne is taken and a slice of bread is eaten. The process is repeated for the desired number of times.

In the Russian gastronomic tradition, sandwiches with caviar are served with champagne. It is advisable to make sandwiches with a minimum set of ingredients: bread, caviar and butter. Lemons, herbs, vegetables, spices, mayonnaise and other foods can spoil the unique delicate taste.

Ingredients:

  • red caviar – 140 grams;
  • loaf (white bread) – 1 loaf;
  • butter – 60 grams.

Recipe

1. Remove the butter from the refrigerator so that it thaws and becomes soft. Cut the loaf (bread) into thin slices, preferably dry in a toaster.

2. Spread each piece with butter.

3. Evenly distribute red caviar over the entire surface of the piece.

An exquisite delicacy to expensive sparkling wines.

Ingredients:

  • loaf – 1 loaf;
  • sturgeon (black) caviar – 200 grams;
  • butter – 150 grams.

Instead of a loaf, you can take crispy white croutons and cut them into any shape, for example, circles or hearts. Butter is replaced with heavy cream.

Recipe

1. Cut the bread into slices 2-3 cm thick.

2. Spread butter on each slice.

3. Put caviar on top with a teaspoon.
