The Ribeiro Wine Regulatory Council accompanies the protagonists of the year at its annual meeting.
La Ribeiro Designation of Origin celebrates its Annual Gala and for the occasion has chosen a privileged setting in the province of Orense, the Monastery of San Clodio in Leiro.

The O Ribeiro Awards
The Awards to be delivered at the Gala are organized by its Regulatory Council, and the best will receive the award at the event. White and Red Wines of the oldest Designation of Origin in Galicia as well as other entrepreneurial activities and actions related to the world of O Ribeiro.
Among the different categories that will be awarded during the Gala events are:
- Award for the Best White Winery Wine.

- Best red wine from the winery.
- Award for the Best Communication Task.
- Award for the Best Wine Service in a Restaurant.
- Award for the Best specialized store or wine bar.
- Award for the Best tavern or wine bar.

During the Gala, tribute will also be paid, delivering the Honorary Person Award 2016 to the Galician journalist Cristino Alvarez, born in Coruña and accountant or gastroarchaeologist by profession as he calls himself.
The recognition is supported by his long history of dissemination, of the DO Ribeiro wines or of Galician gastronomy through his chronicles, not in vain was he awarded in 1991 with the National Gastronomy Prize.
