The Pintxos arrive at the Kursaal

The pintxo championship of the Basque Country and Navarre opens a new location in the city of San Sebastián.

El Amstel Gold Pintxos Championship – Euskal Herriko Pintxo Txapelketa once again brings together the best pintxo chefs in the Basque Country, Navarra and Iparralde.

As in previous editions of the Pintxos Championship, the best local chefs and cooks will participate to turn the small bite to accompany consumption into a true culinary art.

The great novelty of this edition lies in the new location to celebrate the days of the event, which is moved to the Kursaal Palace in Donosti and also the extension of one more day of celebrations, closing the events scheduled in the Basque Culinary Center with the election of the Pintxo Donostia 2016.

Thus, during the next 24, 25 and 26 October, this eleventh edition of the Amstel Oro Pintxos Championship – Basque Country Pintxo Championship.

It is a great time to visit and participate in the celebrations of the championship and the local hospitality industry, which is decked out to receive the participants and visitors of the event, not in vain throughout the year, the city celebrates its European capital of culture, And what better way than making and drinking Pintxos.

The Pintxos and the Cooks

There will be a total of 80 participants, 75 registrations for this year and 5 provincial champions, who will prepare to win the grand prize of winner, represented by the traditional Txapela.

Of all the elaborations, only 3 will be chosen to compete with each other for the best pintxo from Euskadi, Navarra and Iparralde.

El winning pintxo It can be tasted throughout the year in their establishments. Therefore, the jury, made up of renowned chefs, will rigorously assess both the presentation and the taste, but mainly that it is a viable pintxo to be part of the menu of a restaurant.

How could it be otherwise, the award for the best pintxos bar will once again be one of the great events of the gastronomic festival, once again raising one of the city’s emblematic venues or putting one on the map novel that also shows that the miniature cuisine that is tasted in the city is still alive.
