The perfect face mask for 20 rubles: a blogger’s recipe

Beauty blogger Alena Litvinenko shared with Wday a recipe for an inexpensive, proven face mask.

Some women are accustomed to spending a huge amount of money on cosmetics, often choosing them by the appearance of the package and without even thinking about the composition. While a product similar in effectiveness (or even better!) Can be made at home on your own. However, there will be a significant difference in it – the price / quality ratio: the cost is low, and the quality is high, which is not always typical for cosmetics from the store. In addition, making cosmetics at home is like potion-making and magic: you carefully select and mix the ingredients, then apply the finished product to your face and immediately see the effect of your labors. Plus, it’s also a great hobby.

The simplest thing is to start with face masks. We mix 3-5 simple and affordable ingredients and get the desired facial skin. While in a store this pleasure would cost at least 100–150 rubles per package. And if we consider that our skin constantly needs special care, the amounts per year are completely different.

Purifying mask recipe

For whom: for girls with any type of skin.

Cost: less than 20 rubles per application.

Ingredients from the pharmacy:

  • 1 pack of white clay (100 g) – 20-30 rubles

  • sodium tetraborate in glycerin (50 ml) – 30-40 rubles

Preparation and use

  1. We mix the ingredients in the following proportions: 2-3 tablespoons of clay and a tablespoon of sodium tetraborate in glycerin. If necessary, add water to get the consistency of thick sour cream.

  2. Apply in a thick layer for 15–20 minutes on previously cleansed face skin, avoiding the eye area.

  3. Wash off with warm water.

Result: clay deeply cleanses the pores from excess sebum accumulated in them, sodium tetraborate enhances this effect, and also gives an antiseptic effect and evens out skin tone. This is important if you have age spots and acne marks. As for glycerin, it compensates for the loss of moisture. As a result, we get a clean face with a healthy blush and a matte texture.

Important: in no case should the composition dry on the face. Actually, like the rest of the clay masks. Otherwise, it will begin to pick up moisture from the skin. You can spray with water or apply a thick layer that will not have time to dry during the procedure. And it is better to be in a horizontal position without using facial expressions. The face should be relaxed. This will prevent unwanted tissue shearing, which can lead to stretching of the skin.

The finished mask will last for about 10 applications.

Home care is often much more effective than store care. But we are not talking about cucumbers and grandmother’s recipes, but about correctly selected and combined ingredients that have the properties you need. So you can be sure that the cosmetics will not harm your beauty and will not cause allergies.
