Who among us does not dream of changing our lives? We want to become better, we set goals, we make plans, but we do not always implement them. How to learn to achieve what you want?
Starting your own business, quitting smoking, building relationships in your family, finally learning English, finding a creative job, getting in shape – who among us hasn’t set ambitious goals? But the path to success is difficult and thorny. Every day we face obstacles and difficulties, we often fail and give up. However, there are several proven ways to help yourself keep your promises.
1. Break a big goal down into smaller ones. Any difficult task may seem unattainable when viewed as a whole. The key to success lies in dividing the task into several small steps, short-term goals. Let’s be honest: tomorrow you won’t run a marathon, but you can cover one kilometer. In a week, maybe two. And after a year of hard training, you will submit to the cherished distance. Every small victory will motivate you to move forward. Moving forward, it is easier to achieve more.
2. Enlist the support of friends and loved ones. External control is a good thing. If you dream of sports success, then joint training and the resulting competitive spirit will spur you to give all your best. Another trick is to tell as many people as possible about your plans. You can write in social networks: “I’m going to lose 10 kg by the summer.” And it will be inconvenient for you to refuse the undertaken obligation.
3. Find sources of inspiration. No matter what goal you want to achieve, nothing will work without believing in yourself. And real success stories will help you find it – examples of people who were able to reach the top. Getting acquainted with their experience, we tune in to the positive, subconsciously deciding: “If they could do it, then so can I.”
The Natural Truth video project, created by the Russian Olympic Committee and the Siberian Wellness Corporation, is designed to motivate everyone to win. In short videos, world champions, winners and medalists of the Olympic Games talk sincerely and without embellishment about their path to victory. How to overcome fear? How to overcome doubts and weaknesses? How, having survived a failure, get back into the fight? How to become the best version of yourself?
Olympic medalist in artistic gymnastics David Belyavsky, multiple world and European champion in cycling Anastasia Voinova, Olympic champion in short track Semyon Elistratov and other athletes took part in the project. They know how much work is behind each accomplishment. They speak to the audience without pathos and pretense. In front of the camera, they bared their body and soul, and it’s hard to say what was more difficult for them. The result was very inspiring monologues about the pursuit of excellence, self-knowledge, inner and outer beauty. This is a rare example of the sincerity and openness of world-class athletes. Sharing their experience of overcoming, the participants of the Natural Truth project inspire us every day to accept the challenges of fate and move only forward towards our goals.
