Why “Oasis” lights up and goes out
There may be several reasons for the breakdown. In some cases, you can cope without outside help, in others you will have to turn to the master. How to be? It all depends on the complexity of the problem.
Incorrect pipe connection
Perhaps the hot and cold water pipes were mixed up. Experts recommend thinking in advance where you put the equipment. The farther it is from the point of the fence, the more heat is consumed. The longer the pipeline leading to the body, the longer the contents will flow into the column.
Clogged chimney duct
The hole is clogged with soot and debris. In the absence of traction, a special sensor is triggered – the gas supply is turned off. So the security system prevents carbon monoxide from entering the room.
How to check traction? There are several ways:
- Hold a piece of paper up to the vent. If it sticks to the conclusion – there is traction, if it falls – no.
- Light a match or candle. Bring the flame to the control window on the body. The flame deviates to the side – the chimney is working properly. Then the cause of the problem must be sought elsewhere.
You can clean the mine in case of blockage in a private house. But if you live in a high-rise building, you can’t do without the help of public utilities.
Chimney outlet blocked. It happens that neighbors install a satellite dish right above the mine. This leads to a decrease in traction and the accumulation of combustion products. If you find a similar problem, ask your neighbors to reinstall the equipment.
Powerful hood
When the outlet of the hood is opposite the outlet of the column, the combustion products do not go up into the street, but are sucked in by the hood. The fire goes out, the flame sensor is activated. Way out: turn it off while the column is running.
Draft in the room. With a strong gust of wind, the flame in the burner will go out. The flame sensor is immediately triggered, the device turns off. Make sure there are no strong drafts in the room. However, keep in mind that the presence of natural ventilation is necessary for the normal operation of the equipment.
Clogged heat exchanger
During long-term operation without cleaning, the radiator parts become clogged with soot and soot.
Scale forms on the tubes of the coil, which adversely affects the operation of the equipment:
- The heating time is increased.
- More fuel is consumed.
- The thrust force is reduced.
It is necessary to remove the casing from the column, clean the heat exchanger with a brush from soot. Be careful not to damage the copper pipes. There are several ways to remove scale:
- With the use of a chemical agent. The tool is sold in stores, you can also make a solution of hydrochloric acid. Handle the reagent carefully, always follow the instructions. It is poured into the pump and pumped through the coil until the scale is completely removed.
- The use of citric acid. The option is suitable for home cleaning. The radiator is removed, placed in a container with water. The solution is poured inside and put on fire. Then rinsed under running water.

Reduced pressure of water or gas in the system
Hot water not turning on? Does a thin stream flow when you open the faucet? There were pressure issues. When the pressure drops in the line, the membrane does not work – the gas supply valve to the burner does not open. If ignition occurs, the fire immediately goes out.
What you can do:
- Adjust the toggle switch on the body. Set the knob to maximum.
- Check the filter at the inlet to the column. Perhaps his mesh was clogged with debris from the plumbing. Rinse it under running water. If the part is heavily clogged, soak in a solution of citric acid.
If you have problems with gas pressure, it is better to contact the utilities.
Membrane wear. When water is supplied, the membrane located in the water unit stretches and pushes the stem. It opens a valve that fires fuel into the burner. If the diaphragm is stretched, damaged and not flexible enough, the valve will not open.
To check and replace the membrane, the water-gas unit must be dismantled and disassembled: unscrew six screws on the water block, remove the upper part. If clogged, rinse the element under a faucet. If damaged, install a new part.
It is recommended to buy a silicone membrane. It is more flexible and lasts longer.
Mixing streams
If, when hot water is turned on, you start mixing it with cold water using a mixer, the pressure drops – the column turns off. As a result, you get a cold stream. With this use, scale forms on the parts and components of the equipment. What experts recommend:
- Pre-set on the toggle switch a comfortable water temperature that does not require mixing.
- Do not set values above 55 degrees. Then impurities will not be deposited inside.
Dead batteries
Products with electric ignition are powered by batteries. When the faucet is opened, the batteries generate current, which creates a spark to ignite. Check and replace batteries. For stable operation, choose high-quality alkaline batteries.
If all of the listed problems and solutions did not bring results, the cause may be a breakdown of the gas sensor or sensitive relay. The sensors will need to be replaced.
