The nurse recognized in a colleague a baby whom she left 28 years ago

Those who have had such a difficult experience – premature birth, know that it is very difficult. The kid, so tiny and defenseless, is entangled in wires and lies in a special box. Will it survive … Fortunately, now the answer is “yes” sounds more and more often. After all, doctors have learned to care for children with extremely low weight – literally the size of a cup of coffee. But 30 years ago, everything was different and largely depended on the attitude of doctors and nurses to their work.

Wilma Wong has worked at Stanford Children’s Hospital for 32 years. Dozens of babies passed through her hands, whom she managed to get out of. But she never thought that she would meet one of them again. The before and after photo appeared on the hospital’s official Facebook page. In the picture “before” – Vilma, very young, in funny round glasses, is holding a tiny baby on her lap. He was born 11 weeks ahead of schedule, but he turned out to be a real fighter and managed to survive. In the photo “after” – Vilma now. Next to her is a medical colleague wearing a medical uniform and a badge on her chest. This is the very tiny baby.

The boy’s name is Brandon Seminator. An unusual surname that touched some strings in Wilma’s memory.

“I started to remember. I think I had a little patient with that last name. To be sure, I asked if his father was a policeman. ” Told Wilma.

The guy looked at the woman in surprise and slowly replied: “Yes, he was.” At that moment, Brandon realized who was in front of him. Vilma is the same woman who left him. His mother told him about her. Upon learning that he was going to work in this hospital, the woman said: “Look for Vilma. It is unlikely that you will find it, she is probably already retired. But suddenly”.

Suddenly it happened. Both were simply shocked, realizing that they had met so many years later, and even under such circumstances.

“The circle has closed. I was taken care of in this hospital, and now I take care of the children here with the woman who left me, ”Brandon never ceases to be amazed.
