The next series of Sulfarinol nasal drops are withdrawn from sale

The Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate withdrew three series of popular nasal drops from the Polish market. This is once again when Sulfarinol has to disappear from pharmacies. Do you have it in your home medicine cabinet? These drops must not be used.

Sulfarinol – drug withdrawal from the market

GIF has issued a new decision regarding the drug Sulfarinol. Another three series of the product were withdrawn from the market throughout the country. A quality defect was found in them.

A series of Sulfarinol 50 mg +1 mg / l nasal drops are disappearing from pharmacies:

  1. batch number: 041017, expiry date: 10.2020
  2. batch number: 051017, expiry date: 10.2020
  3. batch number: 061017, expiry date: 10.2020 

The entity responsible for the drug, Farmaceutyczno-Chemiczna Spółdzielnia Pracy GALENUS, reported to GIF that a quality defect was detected in the samples – it was about contamination of the drug. It was decided that subsequent series must be withdrawn from sale. The decision was made immediately enforceable.

When is Sulfarinol used?

Sulfarinol are nasal drops that are mainly used for colds. They are available over the counter. They clear the nose, reduce swelling of the mucous membranes and help with inflammation in the sinuses and the nasopharynx. Drops are a popular medicine for a runny nose.
