The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia is finishing the development of a new mobile application, with the help of which Russians will have the opportunity to fight the spread of COVID-19. It is reported by citing sources at the federal headquarters for the fight against coronavirus.
How it works: “The phone scans the environment within a radius of up to 10 meters. All contacts are recorded anonymously on your device. If the other person gets sick, they enter this information into the app and you are notified of the potential risk. The closer the distance and the longer the contact, the higher the app estimates the risk of infection. The data remains on the device and is automatically deleted after 14 days, ”they explain in the video presentation of the application.
It is known that, in addition to the Federal Ministry of Digital Development, the Moscow government, in partnership with major players in the digital market, participated in the creation of the application.
To avoid scams and pranks, the infected will have to enter a special code in the application.
After that, the application will send warnings to the people in contact with it and will send push notifications to other users of the application if the patient is near them.
The code, most likely, will be given with a positive test result for coronavirus.
The developers claim that the application is completely anonymous and secure. No registrations are needed: just installation and activation is enough. It should be earned in the near future. It is also known that installing the application on smartphones will be voluntary.
