We invite you to familiarize yourself with the educational campaign «Zdrowy Oddech», published by Medical Media Solutions, of which we are a Partner. Its edition will be published on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 together with the Rzeczpospolita daily, but today we invite you to familiarize yourself with its electronic version.
The publication opens with a statement by Prof. dr hab. n.med. Piotr Kuna, Head of the 4,5nd Department of Internal Diseases of the Medical University and the Department of Internal Diseases, Asthma and Allergy in Łódź, who emphasizes that civilization lung diseases should be a priority challenge for health in Poland, because the scale of the problem is enormous. «According to epidemiological studies, already 2 million Poles have symptoms of asthma. (…) Another disease is COPD, already XNUMX million people suffer from it in Poland »- emphasizes the professor. Additionally, it deals with the most important challenges of Polish pulmonology, incl. on the essence of the prevention of respiratory diseases and the role of education in the context of lung diseases.
One of the most important topics of the publication is the effective treatment of asthma and COPD. These are diseases that affect the respiratory system and significantly reduce the patient’s quality of life. Questions about these diseases were answered by Prof. dr hab. med. Adam Antczak, pulmonologist, allergist, Head of the Bronchology Laboratory of the Pneumology and Allergology Clinic in Łódź. The professor emphasizes that the effectiveness of the treatment of COPD and asthma depends on the patients’ compliance with medical recommendations: “Thanks to effective education, the patient can avoid exacerbations of the disease and by following the recommendations, it is simply better to live better. It is very important to inform what the treatment is about and to make people aware of the importance of a given drug for the patient ». In addition, it informs how important it is to store the inhaler correctly or to choose the right equipment for the administration of the drug: “Proper use of the inhaler to deliver the right dose of the drug is the key to the effectiveness of inhalation therapy. Appropriate inhalation technique significantly increases the probability of therapy effectiveness »- emphasizes prof. Adam Antczak.
Inspirational material created with the participation of Prof. dr hab. n. med. Władysława Pierzchała presents us even more broadly what pulmonary problems affect Poles. It answers a very important question about the availability of various therapies in the treatment of respiratory diseases. «We have the latest drugs in the treatment of obstructive diseases. Most of them are inhaled and are administered from very efficient and at the same time easy to use individual inhalers. (…) It is worse with drugs for the treatment of interstitial diseases, and this is due to the shortage of such preparations on the world market ”- emphasizes Prof. Władysław Pierzchała.
We encourage you to read the article on the fight for healthy breathing in the context of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, in the creation of which we were helped by Prof. dr hab. n. med. Tadeusze Płusa Specialist in the field of Pulmonology and Allergology, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Lung Diseases of the EMC Hospital of St. Anna in Piaseczno, in which we will find out what are the factors of the development of this disease and emphasize the fact that it is important to follow medical recommendations and systematically follow the therapy. The article also deals with the essence of patient comfort in the context of drug availability and patient education.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Rodryg Ramlau, Head of the Department and Clinic of Oncology, Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Poznań. In addition to information on the factors of disease and prevention of lung cancer, the professor talks about the benefits of immunotherapy in some patients: “Recent years have clearly shown that immunocompetent drugs have been very successful. Thanks to them, lung cancer may become a chronic disease in some patients. ” – emphasizes prof. Rodryg Ramlau.
The problem of polluted air is a problem that affects all of us, therefore it is a very important topic that requires constant education. Dr. med. Piotr Dąbrowiecki, President of the Polish Federation of Asthma, Allergy and COPD Patients, explains why it is such a great threat to us: nose. But the long-term effects are much worse ». He emphasizes that reducing air pollution directly improves the health situation, because what we breathe has an impact on the diseases that affect us.
Ewa Lutomska, co-founder of the Krakow Smog Alert, also addresses the problem of smog in Poland in her material. “For many years, Polish towns and cities have been at the forefront in the rankings of the most polluted cities, and the main reason is low emissions, i.e. burning coal and wood in domestic stoves and boilers.” – says Mrs. Ewa Lutomska. Additionally, it gives hints on how this problem could be solved.
Home is a place that is our asylum and we spend our free time there with our loved ones. Taking care of the air quality in it becomes a necessity when one of the household members is allergic. «Both harmful PM10 and PM2,5 dust as well as dangerous nitrogen oxides, sulfur and ozone can poison unaware household members every day. The same applies to allergens. For them, also, getting to our home is not much of a problem ». That is why we have prepared an inspiring article that shows how we can make our lives easier and make our home an allergy-friendly place every day.
The face of the campaign was Artur Barcis – a respected Polish actor with many creations. He gave us an inspiring interview in which he shows that his asthma does not prevent him from doing his job as well as possible. – I do sports – it’s called acting. (…) Thanks to him, I learned proper breathing using the diaphragm. I know how to avoid the bronchi and not irritate them in asthma attacks – says Mr. Artur Barcis.
We also recommend that you read the material of Halina Pilonis, editor of the MedTvoiLokony portal and the Health Service, which discusses the effects of smog inhalation and gives tips on how to deal with it on our own.
Each of us knows that we need clean air and we should take care of it every day. –Scientific research and epidemiological data show that breathing polluted air may significantly affect the development and dynamics of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Experts warn that the number of diseases related to this phenomenon is constantly increasing – we will read in the article, which tells about the real danger of breathing poor quality air. “Poisonous relationships await us at every step. On the one hand, these are ‘smog’ pollutants, and on the other, a number of other toxic compounds attacking the body, even in the home atmosphere. Their presence can lead to persistent symptoms, especially for allergy sufferers, such as: rhinitis, difficulty breathing or persistent cough. ” In the article, we will find useful information on how to take care of our surroundings on a daily basis and what should be remembered in the home of an allergy sufferer.
