This is another case where the coronavirus severely affects more than one person in the family. This time it happened to the inhabitants of Starachowice. The 50-year-old went to the hospital in Lublin on Thursday evening, she was in a very bad condition. Previously, in the hospital in Starachowice, she was connected to a ventilator, but this was not enough to control the symptoms of COVID-19 infection. Now it has been connected to the ECMO (it is a kind of prosthesis that replaces the work of the lungs and / or the heart).

– The patient is in a critical condition, has a very severe course of COVID-19, with complete respiratory failure. Earlier, in the hospital in Starachowice, she was connected to a respirator, but it did not bring any results – described in an interview with the portal Dziennikwschodni.pl prof. Mirosław Czuczwar, head of the 1nd Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, SPSKXNUMX in Lublin. The doctor added that ECMO therapy is the only chance for the woman at the moment.
