Dentist Roman Niskhodovsky told what the “white diet” is and why it is worth limiting the consumption of soy sauce.
Do not get carried away:
- Unpeeled seeds. Their habit of nibbling is not as harmless as it seems at first glance. Husk damages the enamel, which may not be restored.
- Foods that contain dyes – beets, soy sauce, red wine … If they are overused, over time the tone of the teeth becomes yellower.
- Coffee and tea – they also stain the enamel. In addition, excessive craving for coffee contributes to the “leaching” of calcium from the body.
- Sugar and soda, of course. One complete harm to the teeth. Especially drinks – they contain acids that destroy enamel. If you can’t completely give up “soda”, at least limit it.
And yet – be careful with traditional methods of dental care. You will find a million recommendations on the Internet. But often no one warns about the possible consequences. For example, a very popular method is to whiten teeth with baking soda. Yes, this gives a good result, but at the same time you damage the enamel very seriously. I advise you not to experiment at home, but to use professional tools and carry out procedures at the dentist.
And these foods are good for your teeth:
- Cottage cheese, milk, cheeses. They are high in calcium. In general, there is such a thing as the “white diet” – it must be prescribed after the whitening procedure. The bottom line is that the menu is dominated by white products – first of all, milk and “derivatives”. This will help keep the whitening effect longer.
- Meat, poultry, seafood – a source of protein. Of course, they must be of high quality. Just remember to brush your teeth before and after meals.
- Solid vegetables and fruits – apples and carrots, for example. This is a “charge” for the teeth and, at the same time, a good test. If snacking on an apple is uncomfortable, this is the first bell to go to the dentist.
