The famous scent of the French fashion house got its name after Coco Chanel invited the famous perfumer Ernest Beau to create six different fragrances in order to later choose the most successful of them. The fragrances were numbered from 1 to 6, and Coco chose the fifth in a row, then coming up with the simple name Chanel No. 5. For nearly 90 years, Chanel No. 5 remains synonymous with femininity and sophistication.
In second place in the list of the most significant fragrances was the unisex fragrance One from Calvin Klein. Another scent of the same fashion brand, Eternity, closes the top three.
