The most chic outfits in theaters in Yekaterinburg: photos, details
On March 27, the whole world celebrates Theater Day. The editorial staff of Woman’s Day looked into the wardrobe shops of theaters in Yekaterinburg and found such chic outfits in which any woman dreams of appearing at a ball or masquerade …

The costumes for the performance were created by Moscow designer Irena Belousova. Her most successful idea – dresses with prints, long trains, which provide a special charm to the ladies at the ball. Prints are outlines of figures, faces and plots borrowed from paintings by Renaissance artists.
– Fabrics for printing prints were not used any special, – Irena told Woman’s Day. – It’s chiffon and linen. Only they have a verified composition, due to which the drawing is kept. This has a big advantage – products with prints look voluminous, multidimensional.

For the costumes for this performance, designer Irena Belousova received the prestigious Golden Mask theater award.
“First, viewers see Desdemona in a white dress,” says Irena. – It symbolizes her innocence.
Desdemona then appears in a wedding dress. A traditional wedding dress should be white, but if you want something unusual, then modern brides wear orange or green dresses. And Desdemona chose black – her desire to act in spite of everything is too great.
Her next red dress with long tails has dynamics. I set myself the task of portraying impetuosity – and then a silhouette appeared with a skirt pulled back. This is the time of “Gone with the Wind” – then the round crinolines began to gradually “pull back”, turned into a bustle, and then into a train. As a result, a beautiful silhouette is obtained with inherent movement, so that, even when the heroine just stands still, a feeling of impulse is born.
This year, the Opera and Ballet Theater has 15 nominations for the prestigious Golden Mask theater award, the final of which will take place in Moscow on April 16.

Moscow designer Pavel Kaplevich worked on the creation of the dress. It is he who is the creator of the special “germinated” tissue. The essence of the technology lies in the transfer of one material to another by mechanical processing, without the use of chemistry.
First, the artist created his drawings of the costume, and then they were transferred to the fabric, thanks to special equipment.
To create a voluminous bottom of the dress, as was in fashion among the young ladies of the 6th century, a crinoline was used, to which metal arcs were attached, and a corset and a skirt were already worn on top of them. The dress is not easy – its weight is 8-XNUMX kg!

To create the costume, an unusual fabric was bought – raincoat taffeta. She was specially clamped, tied with a rope, and dipped in boiling water for 30 minutes. Then, in a compressed state, it was hung on a special dryer. When the fabric was dry, it turned out to be compressed.
The idea was for the heroine’s dress to be associated with lava and ash, thereby reflecting the proud, hot-tempered character of Bernarda Alba, a Spanish woman.
Costumes of a gang of swindlers from the play “Threepenny Opera”
Drama theatre
While working on The Threepenny Opera, costume designer Nick Bragin started from the time when the play was created by Bertold Brecht in the 20s. But, taking into account the current relevance of the problems involved, the costumes turned out to be historically not quite accurate, but stylish: fitted silhouettes and broad shoulders – like those of gangsters of the beginning of the last century; exaggerated details that emphasize the character of the character; modern details – zippers, leather. These cheeky outfits reflect the characters’ wild nature.
Hanuma’s dress from the play “Khanuma”
Drama theatre
The dress was created by Georgian artist Nino Kitia. All the artists are dressed in national Georgian costumes, corresponding to the time in which the story of matchmaking unfolds.
The costume of the main character – Khanuma – was created by the female sewing department of the theater within two weeks. Various fabrics, fur, as well as beadwork were used, which, by the way, is periodically completely renewed.
Kruchinina’s dress from the play “Guilty Without Guilt”
Tyuz
By the will of the director Grigory Dityatkovsky, the heroes of Ostrovsky’s classic play were transferred to the modern era. And the prototype of the main character – the famous provincial actress Elena Kruchinina – was the fate of the Russian actress Vera Komissarzhevskaya at the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
In the work on the sketches of the costumes, the designer Natalya Ermolova took archival photographs of Komissarzhevskaya’s theatrical works. During the action, the actress Svetlana Zamaraeva (by the way, for the role of Kruchinina, the actress received the Golden Mask theater award) changes her costumes four times. The most impressive outfit is the ceremonial dress, in which Kruchinina appears in the finale of the performance. When creating it, old patterns were used for cutting, and during sewing they found a unique handmade lace. This dress is a bit like a wedding dress – solemn, it embodies the power of life over death.
Indian rooster costume from the musical “Peppy”
Tyuz
The musical “Peppy” on the stage of the Youth Theater at one time impressed the audience with incredibly fantasy costumes. About 100 costumes were created for the performance, but the most impressive was the Indian rooster costume. Especially his headdress, in the manufacture of which feathers of pheasants and parrots were used, including those from the Yekaterinburg Zoo (not a single bird was harmed). The creators had to lay feathers and fasten them to the headdress for several weeks.
Dresses of Princess Betsy and Countess Lydia Ivanovna from the play “Karenin”
Chamber Theater
When working on costumes for the play “Karenin”, costume designer Olga Gusak started from the fashion of the late XNUMXth century.
“At least two weeks have passed from the creation of sketches to their implementation: the costumes are quite complex cut,” Olga said. – For example, I had to lay the purple gauze fabric on the black dress of the actress Irina Bakanova, who plays Countess Lydia Ivanovna, by hand right on it! And I took the usual black hat and decorated it with fabric to match the dress.
But the headdress for Princess Betsy, played by the artist Evelina Velichko, we ordered in the workshop of the Opera House.
Queen’s dress from the play “Kingdom of Music”
Variety theater
– Initially, the sketch of the costume was completely different, but in the last days before the premiere, everything was redone, – says the costume designer Valentina Sergeevna. – The dress was more likely created for the actress – according to her size. The result is an image similar to the Snow Queen, but at the same time it is not entirely fabulous.
Stretch satin and guipure were used to create the dress, and the frill at the bottom was made of regilin. As a result, it took only 10 hours to create the dress, since the deadlines were burning – the premiere of the performance was supposed to take place the next day.
