Episodes of the film “Eat, Pray, Love” were filmed in four countries, the palettes of which were suggested by the four elements – water, earth, air and fire. “We first surveyed Bali,” says production designer Bill Groom. – It became clear that there is no escape from the feeling of water. After that, the coloristic scheme of the future film was immediately drawn: bohemian New York, firmly on the ground with its sense of style, Italy of open windows and curtains swaying in the wind, and India, filled with fiery red and orange colors.
Teams of local artists, designers and decorators worked in each of the four countries. As a result, filming locations were chosen that perfectly reflect the local culture and style, and the viewer, unable to leave the cinema, embarks on an exciting journey with the main character of the film.

The most beautiful interiors
Located in the East Village of New York, the apartment of David (James Franco, James Franco), with whom Liz had a short romance after the divorce, is decorated in earthy red-brown tones.

Liz’s apartments in the heart of Rome are characterized by high ceilings, pastel colors and huge windows flooded with light. The antique chandelier, just like the scaffolding, was originally located in this interior. “An Indian wedding is something special,” says production designer Bill Groom. “The whole village is going to the celebration.” Handcrafted flower garlands from marigolds, gerberas, daisies, roses, jasmine, wildflowers and herbs give the place an authentic festive atmosphere.
