No astrology, pure statistics: researchers have found a link between the date of birth and what a person will be sick with throughout their lives.
People have never doubted that a person’s entire fate depends on the date of birth. Hippocrates wrote about the connection between the months of the year and diseases as far back as 2500 years ago. And astrology is based only on this: based on the hour, day, month and year when a person was born, they make predictions for many years to come. But it would be strange to take astrology seriously, yet it is not a fundamental science. However, American scientists have confirmed that there is indeed a connection between the date of birth of a person and his health.
Researchers at Columbia University examined the medical records of 1,7 million patients who visited doctors in New York City from 1985 to 2013, and linked their birth dates to 55 specific conditions. In general, it turned out that those born in May get sick or go to the doctor less often, and those who have their birthday in October go to the doctors more often than others.
“For sure, the data will be different depending on the terrain and the quality of the environment. But this knowledge will help us identify new risk factors for asthma, cardiovascular and other diseases, ”explains the head of the study, Dr. Nicholas Tatonetti.
January – hypertension, cardiomyopathy
February – atherosclerosis, diseases of the respiratory system
March – heart failure, mitral valve defect
April – angina pectoris
May – prematurity, low birth weight
June – heart attacks
July – hypertension, diseases of the urinary tract
August – asthma, allergies
September – gastrointestinal diseases
October – asthma, ORVI and ORZ
November – SDVG, ischemia
December – increased injuries
In addition, “winter” people are more likely to suffer from neurological problems.
However, scientists are urging not to panic. “If you know that you are more likely to get sick with something, it’s easier to do prophylaxis. This is usually very simple: you just need to adjust your diet and follow the minimum recommendations for a particular lifestyle. The very fact that there is a likelihood of a heart attack does not mean that you will definitely encounter it, ”explains Dr. Tatonetti.
