The Lower Silesian Association of Help for Patients with Psoriasis would like to inform you that the list of reimbursed drugs, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices proposed by the Ministry of Health as of July 1, 2013 means no access to treatment for children.
In May this year, the Association received written information from the Ministry of Health that the procedure for implementing a new drug program, intended for children and adolescents from 6 years of age, can be expected to be resolved soon. This information sparked great hope in the patient community. However, the Ministry’s announcement was not implemented, because on the proposed list of drugs reimbursed from 1 July etanercept was not found, which is the only drug intended for children. The association did not receive either no signal from the Ministry of Healthat what stage is the procedure.
There is no reason why children with psoriasis in Poland should have difficult life and development opportunities, therefore we expect the Ministry of Health to take decisive steps to make it available as soon as possible the only drug intended for small patients.
