The Ministry of Health published on Thursday (5.03) the so-called «Anti-export list». In addition to the drugs that were on the earlier list, antipyretic, antiviral, analgesic and antimalarial drugs were also added to the inventory. The list also includes medical devices that are currently missing in pharmacies and wholesalers.

Coronavirus Preventive Actions

The Ministry of Health regularly publishes a list of medicinal products, foodstuffs for special food purposes and medical devices at risk of unavailability on the territory of Poland. The so-called “Anti-export list” includes drugs which are missing in 5 percent. pharmacies in a given province. Information on deficiencies is reported by provincial pharmaceutical inspectors to the chief inspector. The latter, in turn, informs the minister of health.

The last “anti-export list” was published on February 17.02.2020, 5.03 (See: New list of drugs at risk of non-availability). Yesterday (XNUMX) the ministry issued an announcement with a new list of drugs and medicinal products. The list includes antiviral, antipyretic, analgesic and antimalarial drugs, as well as medical devices such as caps, masks, gloves and more.

As Deputy Minister of Health Maciej Miłkowski explains on Twitter, the list is of a preventive nature. TOK FM reporter Michał Janczura learned that the announcement is to protect our market against the export of drugs and medical agents that may be needed in the fight against coronavirus.

The first case of infection in Poland was diagnosed in Zielona Góra. The sick person came from Germany. In this country, the number of patients is steadily increasing and according to data, out of 6.03, 545 people were infected.

Deficiencies in pharmacies and wholesalers

For a month now, there has been information that pharmacies and wholesalers lack protective masks and disinfectants, and those that are available reach dizzying prices. The shortages are caused by reports of the coronavirus appearing in European countries. Information about an outbreak of infection in Italy caused an even more intensive search. The shortage of these articles, as well as of antiviral and other drugs used in the treatment of colds and flu, is a problem not only in Poland, but also in other countries.

After the announcement of the first case in Poland, the Ministry of Health updated the list of drugs and medical devices at risk of availability to limit the export of funds from Poland that may prove useful in the fight against the coronavirus.

At the same time, representatives of the ministry and the Supreme Medical Chamber call for restocking drugs, let alone taking them preventively.
