Origin of the name Yusuf
The name Yusuf (يوسف) has Arabic roots and is translated as “May God increase”, “exalted by Allah”.
Prophet Yusuf, the son of Prophet Yakub, became famous for his good character and justice. For this, the brothers hated him and decided to kill him. But then they were afraid of the wrath of the Lord and threw their brother into the well, and told their father that he had been torn to pieces by wild animals.
