History of the origin of the name Taras
Taras is a name of ancient Greek origin, translated means to worry, worry, excite.
According to another version, the name Taras means “rebel”, “rebellious”, since it is consonant with the Greek word “rebellion”. However, this version does not have enough facts to support it, since the name Taras is not common in Greece.
The name is most widespread in Ukraine; to a lesser extent it is known in certain regions of Russia.
In the church calendar, the name Taras appears twice – on March 10 and June 20.
On March 10, they celebrate the name day of Saint Tarasius, the Patriarch of Constantinople, who distinguished himself by good deeds and the spread of the Christian faith.
June 20 is a day dedicated to the holy martyr Tarasius, who was executed by the pagans.
Since the name Taras is quite common in Ukraine, it is not surprising that there are several colloquial and diminutive forms: Tarasik, Tarasko, Tarik, Tasik.
Meaning and characteristics of the name Taras
Of course, the origin and meaning of a name necessarily leave an imprint on the bearer, so it is not surprising that people with the same names often have the same or similar character traits, temperament, or way of perceiving the world. The declared name Taras is no exception, the bearers of which (according to origin) are attributed to a restless character, stubbornness, easy excitability and even loneliness.
So, as a child, little Tarasik is a fairly calm child who does not cause his parents unnecessary trouble. He is even-tempered, quiet, and can play alone for hours. You can safely leave him alone in the room and be sure that the guy won’t do anything bad. He is smart, polite, does well at school, does well in all subjects, but gives preference to the exact sciences, and, as practice shows, it is with them that he connects his life and chooses a profession. This is why Taras often produces good programmers, engineers, technicians, doctors, entrepreneurs, that is, a person named Taras prefers those professions in which he is fully capable of realizing himself, those areas where the opinion of an individual is valued rather than teamwork .
Taras is an independent person who is quite capable of solving all his problems himself: from purely everyday ones (cooking, washing and ironing) to choosing a life partner or profession. As observation shows, often the life partner of a person named Taras becomes an ephemeral creature, divorced from life, who is in the clouds and is not capable of making independent decisions. It is for this girl that Taras replaces her husband, father, and lover.
However, along with the above positive character traits, men bearing the name Taras are very often insecure; they find it difficult to make even seemingly completely rational and expected decisions. Taras can hardly be called sociable: he usually has few friends, but those he does have are time-tested. Quite often, Taras is overcome by laziness: if something can be avoided and not done, then you can be sure that this is exactly what he will do.
Taras loves to be the center of attention, he likes to be praised, because then his wings grow and he takes on his work with triple strength and inspiration.
Taras is a rather stubborn person who never admits his mistakes: he will blame anyone, but not himself, his beloved.
Famous people who bore and bear the name Taras: Taras Shevchenko (famous Ukrainian poet and artist), Taras Franko (writer), Taras Tryasylo (hetman), Taras Mikhalik (football player), Taras Shtonda (opera singer), Taras Bidenko (boxer).
