Olympias is a Greek name. Its history dates back to the times of the ancient Hellenes and is surrounded by many myths. For his devotion to John Chrysostom, Patriarch Theophilus expelled Olympias from Constantinople. Soon she was imprisoned, where she died of illness. Saint Olympias is canonized in the Orthodox and Catholic churches. In the Vatican, in St. Peter’s Square, one of the XNUMX statues of the colonnade depicts Saint Olympias of Constantinople.
