History of the origin of the name Marat
The name Marat comes from the Arabic adjective “desired.” Initially it was common among the Tatars. The father named his long-awaited son to them. Later, the name became popular in the USSR thanks to Jean-Paul Marat, one of the prominent political figures of the era of the French Revolution.
