History of the origin of the name Julia

The name Julia has at least two versions of its origin. According to the first version, the name came to us from Ancient Greece. The second suggests that the name is of Latin origin. It is also generally accepted that the name appeared during the reign of Julius Caesar.

Julia has two patron saints, so she celebrates her name day twice a year – May 31 and July 29. The Holy Martyr Julia of Carthage was crucified for her faith. The martyr Julia of Ancyra was drowned in the lake after cruel torture, along with other believers, because she did not renounce her faith in Christ.
