History of the origin of the name Evangelina
The first association that arises when we hear the name Evangelina is associated with the Christian religion and its sacred scripture – the Gospel. If we look at the dictionary of the language of the ancient Greeks, we will find there the word “evangelion”, meaning “good news”; from it came the masculine name Evangel, the feminine form of which is Evangelina (in some sources Evangelica). Thus, this name can be translated as “Messenger who brings good (or good) news.” Over the hundreds and even thousands of years of its existence, this beautiful name has never become particularly widespread either among the Catholic or Orthodox population of the planet; moreover, in the Christian calendars, one cannot find a day in honor of a saint with that name, although it is still present there one Gospel, whose day can be considered the Day of the Angel for Evangelicals all over the world. But it is difficult to find a name that has received so many derivatives and diminutive names that have taken on their own life and become popular: Angelina, Angelica, Evita, Eva, Gela, Eva, Lina, Lika, Lily, Ivi, Vangelia.
Meaning and characteristics of the name Evangelina
The name Evangelina, like any other, leaves an imprint on the character of its owner. The most important feature of any little Evangelina can be considered daydreaming, the desire to “hover in the clouds”; the consequence of this may be some isolation from other kids. Parents need to make an effort and bring their daughter together with the children of relatives or acquaintances in a cozy home environment, so that the girl can express herself and make friends. The fact is that she loves to be in the company of other children, but does not always know how to express her emotions, so she may seem overly shy and even distant.
Growing up, Evangelina acquires a fair amount of pragmatism, without losing her vulnerability and romance. As a result, her character becomes quite contradictory. On the one hand, she dreams of a “knight on a white horse,” and on the other, she doesn’t forget to check whether he has a large estate and a bank account, so it may be difficult for her to establish a personal life at a young age. But Evangeline’s late marriages, concluded after such a careful selection of candidates for grooms, usually turn out to be happy. In married life, Evangelina turns out to be a caring and flexible wife, who does not pretend to be the head of the family, but happily allows a man to take the reins of government into his own hands.
If we talk about inclinations and talents, then Evangelina is a creative person who shows herself well in the arts, especially choreography (it would not hurt parents to enroll the girl in a ballet studio or dance club), as well as in the humanities – her element can be literature or psychology, for example. However, it is worth remembering that a woman named Evangelina usually chooses a job and career based not only on her preferences, but also taking into account whether the job pays well, and will never agree to a job with a meager salary.
In matters of health, Evangelina should pay special attention to the prevention of colds, because her lungs are not strong, and there is a high probability of a simple flu or cold developing into bronchitis, pneumonia and other pulmonary diseases. Also, girls with this name are more likely than others to suffer from allergic skin reactions.
