History of the origin of the name Cosmos

The name Cosmos dates back to the times of the ancient Greek state. The word “cosmos” (χώρος) comes from the Greek verb “kosmeo” – to put in order, equip, decorate the world. It is believed that Pythagoras was the first to use this word. In his philosophical teaching, he contrasted the cosmos – a harmonious, organized system – with chaos.

Currently, the name Cosmos is translated as “space”, “universe”. They are called boys who have Greek roots. But in modern Greece this name is not widespread.

In Russia, the name Cosmos was popular during the era of space exploration. Especially after April 12, 1961, when the first Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin made a successful flight. Along with the names Rocket, Soyuz, Atom, this name recalls the deep patriotism and romantic worldview of the Soviet person.

With the passing of cosmic romance into the past, the name Cosmos was not forgotten. After the release of the TV series “Brigada” in 2002, there was a second round of popularity of this interesting and unusual name.

The meaning and characteristics of the name Cosmos

As a child, Cosmos does not stand out from the general background. He behaves like an ordinary child: he is moderately naughty, moderately listens to the words of adults. At school he studies averagely, does not chase grades, and does not show any special preferences for any subjects. He builds smooth relationships with peers and teachers; he has many friends, but no real, loyal friends. The only thing that captivates the boy is sports, but not as a competitor, but as a fan.

The cosmos strives for freedom with all its might. Any framework and restrictions weigh on him. This applies to both family and friendship ties. Space does not allow anyone to dictate to him what and how to do. He is always ready to change places, professions, and acquaintances. Easily adapts to new conditions. This constant craving for independence can play a cruel joke on the Cosmos. Sooner or later he will feel loneliness, which will not be easy for him to come to terms with.

Cosmos has a developed sense of self-esteem, but he has a poor understanding of people. A man with this name often gives in to flattery. Colleagues who need or benefit from his help are ready to do anything to get it. And Cosmos is often easy to catch with this bait. He helps those who do not need this help and do not intend to thank for it. And when faced with a lack of appreciation, he becomes disappointed in people and may even change his job.

As a rule, Cosmos chooses free professions: journalist, traveler, photographer. He needs a constant change of places and impressions; office work is not for him. The financial component of Space is also of little interest to him; he is a fan of his business.

It is very difficult for a man named Cosmos to get married. The same desire for freedom makes any alliance with him a very dangerous and time-consuming undertaking. The spouse should under no circumstances remind Cosmos of his responsibilities, otherwise he will regard this as an attempt to limit him and will quickly disappear. In family relationships, he shows authority and stubbornness, does not like to be contradicted, and makes all decisions himself.
