History of the origin of the name Akulina

Akulina is an ancient Roman female name that appeared in Rus’ after the adoption of Christianity. It is found in both Orthodoxy and Catholicism. Its church version sounds slightly different – Aquilina. The patroness of the owners of this name is Aquilina the Younger, who in the 26rd century was subjected to painful execution for her faith in Christ.
