Every family has its own “skeletons in the closet”. But the hero of this story seems to have outwitted himself. What prompted him to give his daughter the name of his mistress?
A young American woman from Kentucky posted a story about a family secret on TikTok. When her mother was pregnant, the parents had an agreement: if a son is born, the wife chooses his name, and if the daughter, then the husband. When a girl was born, the young dad hastily ran to register her under the name Christina.
Mom was not opposed, and she liked this name … until it turned out that her husband had a mistress with the same name!
As Christina herself explains in her video, her father’s reasons for naming her daughter after that woman were not at all romantic. The man was afraid to “pierce”, accidentally naming his wife at home by the name of his mistress, and decided to make his life easier. So the reservation could be easily explained.
Revealing her secret publicly on a social network, the girl adds: if for most people being named after someone is a reason for pride, then in her case, alas, there is nothing to brag about. But she also has no one to complain to. Her father left the family when the girl was 3 years old, after that he started new relationships and children more than once – and left again, without maintaining contact with his daughters and sons, says Christina.
As it turns out, this story is not unique. Many parents choose names for their children for strange reasons.
