We happened to be in the Czech capital at the end of September. I’ve heard a lot about Prague in my life, but, as they say, it’s better to see it once. At first sight, I fell in love with this unique city.
Cozy and clean streets, lovely houses and luxurious palaces, the Vltava river, stunning architecture and friendly people. All this will forever remain in my heart!
My husband and I stayed in a good hotel “Best Western City Hotel Moran” 4 *. Great, cozy hotel! Rooms are spacious with high ceilings. The location of the hotel is convenient. Two stops to Charles Bridge. Everything is near. Our landmark was the Dancing House, the way to it was 7-8 minutes on foot. If you are looking for a decent hotel, feel free to choose this one!
There are many sights in Prague that can be safely called the most recognizable places of the city. Picturesque parks, singing fountains, various museums will impress even the most demanding tourists. Walking around Prague is always a holiday!

Prague Castle
Prague Castle is the seat of the Czech kings, rulers of Bohemia. The residence of the President of the Czech Republic is currently located here. This fortress is built similarly to the Moscow Kremlin.

Zlata Ulička
Within the precincts of Prague Castle is located the unique Zlata Street (Golden Street). In the XIII-XIV centuries. the tax levied on the owner of the house was determined by the width of the facade of the house. Therefore, here on both sides of the sidewalk narrow, marzipan-like, multi-colored houses huddle together.
In the Middle Ages, the main population of this street was alchemists, for which it got its name. Today, numerous cafes and souvenir shops flourish here.
Powder tower
Once upon a time, the Royal Route began from the Powder Tower to Prague Castle. Therefore, many tourist excursion routes originate from this place. Walks around the capital of the Czech Republic begin right here.
Gunpowder was stored in the tower for a long time, which is why it got that name. Currently, the tower houses a museum, and there are constant photo exhibitions.
The most important thing that attracts tourists when getting to know the Powder Tower is the opportunity, having overcome 186 steps to the observation deck from a height of 44 meters, to admire a delightful view of the center of Prague.
Old Town Square
The Old Town Square is located in the very heart of Prague. All the roads of the Czech capital lead here, and from this place it is also possible to get anywhere in the city.

Opened in 1380, Charles Bridge connects the Old Town and Prague Castle. The bridge is 510 meters long and 9 meters wide. Towers guard the bridge from both ends, and 30 sculptures of saints are located on the pillars of the bridge. Charles Bridge has long been a pedestrian zone and is considered a popular destination for street artists and souvenir merchants.

Another interesting place is the Jewish Quarter, located in the old city. At the end of the XNUMXth century, thanks to the Austrian Emperor Joseph, the quarter was renamed “Josefov”.
Vysehrad fortress
In a picturesque place, on the banks of the Vltava River, stands the amazingly beautiful Vysehrad fortress. From here a beautiful panoramic view of the Czech capital opens up. On the territory of the fortress there are real monuments of medieval culture.
Wenceslas Square
Wenceslas Square – the largest city square, is the business and shopping center of the New Place of Prague. In the very center of the square, you can see a monument to the patron saint of the whole Czech Republic – St. Wenceslas, after whom the square was named.
The monument is surrounded by sculptures of four more saints. You can also visit the Czech National Museum on the square. The square attracts tourists with its abundance of restaurants, cafes and shops.
dancing House
In Prague, there are not only medieval architectural monuments, the beauty and history of which is breathtaking, but also modern, recently built buildings, the design of which never ceases to amaze.
One of these buildings is the Dancing House. Today it houses a modern office center, and on the roof there is a French restaurant with a magnificent view of the city.
