The layout of a small kitchen, how to increase the space

The following easy and time-tested tricks will make your cooking and eating area seem much larger than it actually is.

1. Install vertical tiles.

Just flip the tile over to match the brick. If such a tile is laid vertically, and not horizontally, then it will lead the eyes upward, making the kitchen ceiling seem higher than it really is.

2. Purchase open shelves.

Too many wall cabinets weigh down a tiny kitchen. Try replacing some of them with open shelves. Not only will this make the kitchen more open, but it will also give you the opportunity to display the kitchen utensils that you are especially proud of.

3. Save space with stools.

Find a narrow dining table with a bench or stools that you can slide under it. This will reduce congestion in the kitchen and make it easier to navigate.

Surfaces that reflect natural light will make your kitchen look bigger. The lacquered cabinets and reflective tiles are favorites here.

5. Make the most of what you have.

If you live in a studio apartment, additional difficulties arise because the bedroom and living room are limited to one room. The kitchen in the photo makes the most of the available space with open shelves, a gallery wall and even a TV, allowing you to cook and watch your favorite shows!

Not enough space? Use your brains! Pot holders are a great way to save limited space in cabinets. And they are quite inexpensive.
