How did the Saint Honoré cake come about?
In 1846, the pastry chef Chiboust invented the cake itself and the cream for it. He named the cake in honor of the patron saint of confectioners, in addition, his pastry shop was located on Rue Saint-Honore. But he immortalized the cream with his name and had every right to do so!
The gourmet dessert as we know it today consists of puff pastry as a base topped with tiny profiteroles topped with chocolate or caramel. The center of the cake is filled with custard or whipped cream using a pastry syringe with a special tip.
We will remind, earlier we talked about the opening of a market and a restaurant in the Paris metro.
