The inscription on the cake: how to make? Video
A personalized cake will become an unforgettable and expensive gift for a celebration, be it a birthday, anniversary, wedding anniversary or other significant event. You can write the inscription on the cake with the help of special pastry markers, sugar pencils, or with improvised means – a cream made with your own hands.
The inscription on the cake
First, think over the text of the inscription. It should not be too large, as it simply may not fit on the surface of the cake. Then choose a font.
Beautiful and original fonts can be found on the Internet or printed in Word in full size and printed on a printer
If this is your first experience, you should practice on a piece of paper beforehand. Cut out a template equivalent to the shape of the cake, in the place where the inscription will be located, draw two parallel lines so that the letters do not turn out to be crooked and of different sizes. Find the center of the line. Count the number of letters and spaces and write the middle letter in the center of the line, the rest on the sides of it. This technique will allow you to make the inscription symmetrical, in addition, it will all fit onto the cake.
Make a cream. To prepare it at home, you will need:
- 200 g butter
- 1 can of condensed milk
- food colorings
Whisk the softened butter, gradually adding the condensed milk to it. Add food coloring to create a multi-colored mass. You can replace it with natural, for example, berry syrup or a few drops of beetroot juice. Put the prepared mass in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Take a pastry syringe or bag. Put the cream in it. Take it with your right hand at the tip and with your left at the top. Lead with your right hand along the inscription previously applied to the sheet, at the same time squeeze out the cream with your left hand. When everything works out perfectly, you can write on the cake as well.
In this case, proceed in the same order as when training on a piece of paper. Take a toothpick and draw two parallel lines where the lettering will be. Then mark the location of the letters with a toothpick and apply the inscription with cream. Now you can start decorating your masterpiece!
There is another fairly simple way to write on the cake. If you are not sure that you can write beautifully on its surface, make letters, and then transfer them to the cake.
For this you will need:
- chocolate bar
- paper
- карандаш
- scissors
- 2 transparent stationery files
From one stationery file, cut out a shape equivalent to the shape of the cake. Cut the same shape out of a piece of paper. Use a pencil to write. Place the film on the sheet.
Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt in a water bath. Place the melted chocolate in the second file (it will serve as an impromptu pastry bag). Cut off the corner of the bag. Squeeze the chocolate along the outlines of the letters.
Transfer the structure carefully to the refrigerator and wait for the chocolate to harden. Then cut off the excess tape around the lettering and attach it to the surface of the cake with the file facing out. Press lightly on the letters. Now peel off the film, do it very carefully, being careful not to break the letters or damage the surface of the cake. The chocolate letters can also be removed from the film with a knife and transferred to the cake, but this must be done very carefully as they are fragile.
