Hospitals included in the network will be responsible for patients also after their discharge from the clinic. Thanks to additional funds, they will be able to offer patients, among others, additional research and rehabilitation.
Changes that will provide patients with more comprehensive care will be possible thanks to a change in the way hospitals are financed. With the entry into force of the law, hospitals will have a lump sum, thus facilities will have greater flexibility in allocating funds and instead of focusing on creating limits and performing the most attractive procedures, they will be able to devote themselves to what is most important, i.e. what we call a mission public hospital.
It is primarily the patients that are to benefit from these changes. After the new regulations are introduced, the hospital will be able to look after the patient, also when the patient leaves the hospital. This is because more funds will give facilities the opportunity to perform additional examinations in the patient or order rehabilitation practically immediately, without queues and long waiting times. This solution will ensure the continuity of therapy and accelerate the patient’s recovery.
The changes are to enter into force on October 1 this year, and the list of hospitals that will be online will be published at the end of June. The list will be valid for four years.
