When people make happiness their goal, it slips out of their hands. N.I. Kozlov.

The one who directly sets himself the life goal of achieving happiness does not achieve it (verified by years of training activities). It looks like either a paradox or a vicious circle, but those people who go to psychologists to find happiness go to them for years, and as a result they find anything, but not happiness.
Many in the hands of good psychotherapists acquire mental health, understanding of themselves and people, their self-esteem increases, self-confidence is acquired, relationships with others improve. But happiness, as before, as it was a fleeting gift and a rare guest, remained so.
For those who are mentally not quite healthy, one should think not about happiness, but about restoring mental health. And for those who have normal mental health, setting the goal of “Achieving happiness” is wrong: the very wording moves you away from the goal.
Set the goal «I want to achieve happiness!» already by the language construction suggests that you are not happy. Not unhappy, but not happy.
The one who sets the goal «I want to become rich!» — not rich. He is not necessarily a beggar, he can be wealthy, but with such a goal setting, he is not rich.
At the same time, the greater the desire to achieve happiness, the greater the expectation of it, the greater the tension. And where tension and expectation increase, there is a decrease in the chance to experience happiness.
