The old postulate of the union is strength seems not only that it continues to grow, but it also confirms that collaboration and knowledge sharing leads to the generation of creative entrepreneurial ideas that may give birth as potential businesses in the future.
This is the idea that the Basque Culinary Center, that together with the restaurants Mugaritz and World Map have wanted to lead the creation of start-ups related to food and technology
In the program that started on September 1, the San Donostia-Sebastián Development Society and the Heineken group also collaborate to help create synergies and opportunities for the new companies that they intend to create for their subsequent development as such.
The global startup acceleration program is known as DIG EAT ALL Food & Tech Living Lab And this initiative that takes place this month among the selected “food & tech” companies will try to give initial results of business plans, captivating for the investment companies that help to finance these projects in the near future.
Program objectives
DIG EAT ALL Food & Tech Living Lab It is framed in the search to eliminate or solve current problems such as the high generation of food waste, since the data that is known is shocking considering that 50% of the food produced in the world ends up in the garbage.
Hunger and malnutrition also cover the other side of the objectives, in order to help reduce the mortality rate produced by it. reaching 25.000 people a day in this last year.
The third important point of the objectives focuses on achieving an improvement in quality, abandoning excess saturated fat and other elements or components to help reduce the rate of childhood obesity, since in recent years it has doubled.
Technology is within the processes of the food industry and therefore its application is essential and that it helps to bring improvements in these key points.
